DOC READY
A web app, codesigned with teenagers to help young people discuss mental health issues with their GP
Design Research / Codesign / UX
Doc Ready is a digital tool that helps young people to prepare and make the most out of mental-health-related GP visits. It helps them to know what to expect during a GP consultation, plan what to say, and record the outcomes of their appointments. To date, the tool has hosted more than 35,000 users.
A collaboration between FutureGov, Enabled by Design, Neontribe and Social Spider, my role was to engage with young people, GPs and mental health workers to create the features and aesthetic of the app and brand.
Working with young person’s mental health support group - Right Here Brighton - we conducted several codesign workshop over a series of months using activities such as card sorting and personas to understand the priorities and needs of a spectrum of different users. We culminated this process with an enormous paper-protoyping event with over 60 young people, youth workers and health professionals before putting together the final app designs.
